Tile roof hip and ridge.

Boral roofing has the best hip and ridge products available to prevent wind driven rain snow and other debris from entering the peaks and corners of a roof. These cover the diagonal sloping bit which joins the end of the top ridge to the front and back corners of a semi detached house. With a hip roof design the ridge ends in two ribs that are interconnected by a hip cap. This is simply a roof where the two sides meet at an angle as showin in the picture above.

Rake requirements on tile roofs. The point at which the two sides meet is called a hip. There are two main problems which develop with both types. Hip and ridge tiles are later nailed on with a 2 inch head lap and the lower ends are sealed at the overlap with roofing cement or an approved tile adhesive.
