Sides b and d have scratchy persistent surface noise throughout the entire sides which you can hear through the music. I bought the album on vinyl in 89 and was pleased. Over 1 hour of the cure featuring fascination street direct metal mastering this music has been mixed to be played loud so turn it up. The cure disintegration is a similar version pressed at specialty records corporation as indicated by e a s t embossed in the outer edge of the b side pressing ring and sp etched in the runouts.

Hearing fascination street the first time was a real blast. I own all of the cure on cd including the deluxe box sets but as they say vinyl is king. This cd is among the best of the cure. Disintegration is a great album of course but my one star rating here is for the lousy quality of the vinyl.

The album is crisp and clean. Regarding vinyl or cd for disintegration i really don t know i haven t compared the two together it seems a difficult task to do. The cure is my favorite band of all time.
